Try learning about something that you wouldn’t normally be interested in…Maybe you need a new hobby or something else to do because you are bored.

David La Pierre

i think that you are geting distracted because there might be something/someone on ur mind and if it is the case you need to discuss the matter with either the person or a close friend so that you can resolve your problem.

I found that learning to meditate increased my ability to focus on anything. i recommend tai chi or aikido or any martial art to increase your focus ability. it really makes a difference for me in being able to not get distracted. Or yoga. Any physical practice with mediative component.

Have you considered playing an instrument? It will satisfy the need to learn give you a chance to use your math skills and the prolonged concentration of thinking will help you focus and you will never be bored. There is that much to learn, but you must stir up the motivation to practice. Piano or guitar are great to start.
FYI
I am a music teacher. I teach violin, voice and piano.
