ur never too old! but you have to be fairly in shape. if ur sixteen, u should already be in decent shape. if u arent go to the gym a lot before you start dancing.

You’ll be the only 16 yr. old in the “beginers” class, but those little kids wont mind, since you’ll be able to kick all their butt’s.

It is never too old. You don’t have to be taught at a young age to do gymnastics, it’s just very difficult to start after about 15. I’ve been in dance since I was four but I see beginners coming at various ages all the time. 18 is the oldest, so you should probably start soon. As long as you are in good shape, a local studio/teacher should be more than happy to work with you! Just know that since you’re older, you may have to work harder. Stay dedicated, it’ll pay off!

I think you are only too old if you are at the point where if you dance, your bones will break. You do not have to be taught at a young age.

You may never be a world-renowned dancer, but there are many dancers who started at your age and even older. It helps to have natural talent, of course, but if you’re dedicated then it should come quickly to you. You’re especially lucky because dance schools LOVE male dancers because they are so rare, and they will be sure to spend extra time helping you catch up and excel.

-Sabra Johnson, who won Season Three of So You Think You Can Dance, started dancing around your age and had only been dancing for four years before winning the competition.

-My dance teacher began training at 15 or so, and she went on to major in dance and become an incredible dancer and choreographer, and start her own company.
